There is rarely talk about prosecuting a murderer if he or she is wearing a badge

The California Legislature continues to protect killer cops.

According to California law, written over the years by the Democrats who control the Legislature, government official keep the personnel records of peace officers completely confidential. Completely.

A psycho cop could kill a dozen people and you’d never be able to find out.

According to the Sacramento Bee, this legislative straitjacket, officially known as the California Peace Officers Bill of Rights, was launched into law, in part, by Gov. Jerry Brown in the final months of his first term.

Even if officers are found to have violated department policy, or the law, in shooting a suspect, killer cops get special privileges that make it extremely difficult to fire. There is rarely talk about prosecuting a murderer if he or she is wearing a badge.

The Bee is absolutely correct when they opine that this legal framework has made supposedly progressive California the nation’s capital of state-sanctioned police secrecy and a haven for killer cops.

It is beyond time for this to change. The Bill of Rights demands it.
