#UrbanShield, #AlamedaCounty’s festival of death, may finally be coming to an end

Screenshot 2018-03-29 at 08.17.51.pngAccording to the East Bay Times, this could be the last summer that a controversial law enforcement training exercise called Urban Shield focuses on fighting crime and terrorism.

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors has come to the conclusion that future exercises should concentrate instead on responding to natural disasters and similar emergencies rather than gunning down the poor, the homeless, the mentally ill, and people of color.

More than 100 public speakers, many of whom said Urban Shield’s festival of death underscores how militarized law enforcement has become.

They are absolutely correct.

The annual two-day event is supposed to train first-responders on how to deal with emergencies. It’s not like that anymore.

In addition to the military training, vendors at the event “Black Rifles Matter” T-shirts, ridiculing the Black Lives Matter movement.

Fremont police Capt. Sean Washington said he viewed Urban Shield as a training exercise. He’s correct. However it’s the wrong kind of training.

  1. Looking at Sacto right now.. It would be VERY foolish to once again disarm the police from the training that Da Supervisors are demanding.. Da Mayor & his hnd picked Board will be cringing in their offices their city burns.. With Jerry and his leftist thugs firmly in control of the political agenda.. Keeping the cops revved up for Kaly style riots that resemble The Gaza Strip would be a good idea.
