#SiliconValley continues to ignore sex crimes

Sex crimes continue to be rampant in Silicon Valley.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, a major fundraising force in the heart of the tech world, has been jolted by allegations of workplace misconduct.

Pardon us, but we’re not at all surprised. It’s how the “do as we say, not as we do” crowd in the Bay Area rolls.

It turns out that former employees have alleged inappropriate behavior by the Mountain View foundation’s top fundraiser, Mari Ellen Loijens.

According the story, Loijens had worked there for more than a decade. Media reports indicate she demeaned and bullied her staff, made lewd comments in the workplace, and on at least one occasion sought to kiss a woman working for her.

“It was not uncommon to hear Mari Ellen suddenly screaming at the top of her lungs, berating one of my colleagues about how stupid they were,” Jennifer Wood, a former director of individual giving for the foundation told reporters.

The foundation is loaded with cash, billions. So don’t expect much to come from these charges. As long as Loijens brings in the money, Silicon Valley elites will look the other way and allow her rampage to continue.
